Method 1

Soak with soap. It is essential that you get your coffee cup primed and ready to be cleaned. This will require you to soak your cup in some dish soap to get read of all the other nasty spots. Dish soap is an effective primary tool to prep your mug. Start by adding a small squirt to your cup and fill the cup with warm water. Give the mug a swirl to let the mixture spread and set it aside for five minutes. This will allow the soap to penetrate the grim. You may need to use a sponge as well to help scrape off some grime.

Method 2

Baking soda mixture. Sprinkle one tablespoon of baking soda onto the stains and add some water to make a paste. Grab your sponge (make sure it's damp) and begin to scrape away the stains. Baking soda is effective as it has a neutralising agent in it that helps remove stains. Once you can see the stains are gone, pour out the water and give it a rinse with fresh water.

Method 3

Vinegar solution. Vinegar is another natural cleaning product that can really get into sticky stains. To use vinegar, fill your mug halfway with distilled white vinegar. Then fill the cup to the top with boiling water. Allow the mixture to sit for 10-15 minutes to let the vinegar eat away the stains. After 10-15 minutes, pour out the mixture and grab a sponge to clear off any residual stains. Rinse your mug thoroughly and it will be as good as new!
