Our Favourite Drink Recipe This Winter
This year our favourite is our take on hot chocolate, called Winter Warm Cocoa! The ingredients you will need for this recipe are:
- Cocoa powder;
- Hazelnut spread (a big dollop);
- Milk (whole works best but soy and almond milk are also acceptable);
- Heavy cream;
- Salt (just a pinch);
- Granulated sugar;
- Vanilla extract; and
- Marshmallows and whipped cream for show!
The recipe itself is quite easy to make:
- We like to make this drink over a cooktop, mixing in the cocoa powder, hazelnut spread, sugar and milk into a pot;
- Mix these ingredients well and allow the mixture to come to a light boil before reducing the heat to medium and adding the pinch of salt. Let it simmer for about 10 seconds whilst stirring to make sure everything is whisked together;
- Take the pot off the cooktop and add the remaining vanilla extract and heavy cream and blend well. Let the drink cool for a bit to let the flavour soak in;
- Feel free to top with whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate wafers, chocolate sauce etc. to make it that little bit sweeter!
